How We Support Financial Educators and Communities Across ANZ
Leading Training & Credentials for Financial Educators
More than 5,000 professionals have earned the NFEC’s Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI) designation. Collectively, our graduates have invested over 300,000 hours in professional development and delivered financial education to 1.4 million learners across 71+ countries and every U.S. state.
At the heart of our mission is the set of industry standards we created for financial education instructors. The Framework for Teaching Personal Finance – developed with the Danielson Group and aligned with InTASC principles – defines the knowledge, skills, and observable practices that set exceptional financial educators apart.
Earning the CFEI credential demonstrates that an instructor meets these benchmarks. It’s a signal of rigor, ethical practice, and instructional excellence – qualities that elevate every program they lead.
Launch-to-Impact Program Support
The NFEC delivers true end to end support, giving instructors and program leaders the freedom to focus on what matters most: making a real difference. Whether you’re building a brand new initiative or leveling up an existing program, we help you design, staff, and scale high quality financial education experiences that drive measurable results. Our mission is simple and bold: elevate your program’s impact while cutting the time, cost, and staffing strain it usually takes to get there.
Financial education has always been a grassroots movement – and we’re committed to keeping it accessible to everyone. That’s why we equip organizations of all sizes with turnkey resources, hands on training, funding guidance, and local partnership opportunities. With the right tools and support, communities can deliver practical financial education that builds capability, confidence, and long term resilience.
Community Mobilization – Local Chapter Leadership
State chapters power targeted advocacy, on the ground support, and scalable financial wellness initiatives – moving instructor training from the classroom into real world impact. They deliver life changing skills, forge partnerships with local leaders, and strengthen community organizations. Chapters also spotlight success through award ceremonies that honor outstanding students, educators, and community champions.
Each chapter is guided by a local Advisory Board focused on three action pillars: Empowerment – equipping individuals and families with the confidence and capability to make informed financial decisions; Advocacy – driving multi level campaigns that secure policy wins and funding commitments; and Relationships – building durable partnerships with schools, employers, media, and policymakers to accelerate adoption and ensure long term sustainability. Together, these pillars transform financial education gains into measurable, lasting community change.
National Advocacy with Community Impact
The NFEC is stepping up to make sure youth leave secondary school with real‑world money skills they can actually use. We’ve moved to a more hands‑on, results‑driven approach – raising the bar for financial education, shaping how people think about it, pushing for smarter policies, and fixing the systems that keep financial illiteracy in place. By teaming up with partners, creating strong standards, and driving legislative change, we’re building a nationwide movement to make financial wellness a priority in schools, healthcare, and the economy.
We’ve also brought together people who are passionate about improving financial education through our United for Financial Literacy Advocacy Committee. Every quarter, we rally around a relevant and focused campaign to move financial wellness forward.
